Job Title: mmWave Development Engineer

Background:

Sub10 Systems is a mmWave radio system manufacturer and supplier. The company develops and builds commercial mmWave radio links at 60Ghz and 70-80GHz for use in enterprise and operator wireless communications infrastructure worldwide. This is a rapidly expanding market driven by exploding demand for cellular wireless broadband capacity. Sub10 is a rapidly expanding, well funded technology company, with shipping product and revenue.

Team Overview:

The mmWave team has responsibility for all aspect of developing and delivering mmWave functionality. This includes RF architecture definition, transceiver development, manufacture and test, cost reduction, commercial and technical interface with partners and suppliers and development of custom capability including at the chip level where necessary.

Core Job Functions:

  • Work as a key member of the mmWave development and operations team, to support new product development and existing product cost reduction
  • Take technical leadership in chip and module level development, including selection of and interface with key suppliers as needed
  • Direct contribution to, and potential ownership of, development programs including schedule definition and responsibility for delivery to plan
  • Work with mmWave and radio architecture teams to define product and subsystem requirements
  • Some travel may be needed, to interface with suppliers and customers. This would include UK and Europe and possibly US/Asia.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • BSc in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong commercial experience of development of microwave/mmWave components & modules
  • Demonstrable experience of high frequency (>25GHz) circuit and/or system design
  • Demonstrable understanding of current modeling and simulation techniques for IC and subsystem mmWave components
  • Proven record of product definition, implementation, and delivery on spec, on time and on budget
  • Proven experience of supplier interface at foundry, component and subsystem level
  • Broad experience of ADS & HFSS or equivalent
  • RF and mmWave bench measurement skills
  • Experience of V & E band radio development
  • Clear, concise communication style, both written and oral
